3rd Quarter Devotional/Christian Living Book Report
Choose a devotional or Christian living book that is applicable to your life. (You can choose a book that you have read in the last year, but you must reread it for this report.) The devotional/Christian living book should be at least 100 pages. As you read, look for lessons that can you can apply in your life. (A sheet is attached that you will use to take notes as you read.) The book report should be 2-4 pages long and written in essay format.
Introduction: (1-2 paragraphs) Include Title, Author, a short introduction to the book/book's main ideas, and a Thesis Statement. The Thesis Statement should state the lessons from the devotional book that you can apply in your life. Example: I learned .../I can apply ... to my life.
Body: (3-5 paragraphs) Include one paragraph for each lesson that can apply in your life. Include a topic sentence, how you will/have applied the lesson in your life, and why it is important.
Conclusion: Restate thesis and review key points.

Title Page: Title of the Book, Student Name, Date, Class, Teacher's name (centered on the page)
Essay: 12 point font (Times New Roman, Calibri, Arial, etc.), 1 inch margins
Quotations/Paraphrases/Summaries: Quotations/paraphrases/summaries used in essay should include a parenthetical reference that includes the author's last name and the page number. Example: (Ludy 73). If introduced with author's name, only include the page number. "In Authentic Beauty, Leslie Ludy says "..."(73)."
Citation: (placed at the end of book report)
Lastname, Firstname. Title of Book. Place of Publication: Publisher, Year of Publication. Medium of Publication.

Sentence Structure and Mechanics: Score will be reduced by one point for every four mistakes.
Statement of Completion: placed after citation
