Sports Updates:

Ø     Junior High volleyball tournament was held this last Saturday at ACS.  Our girls were awarded third place out of the five teams.  Great job ladies!

Ø     The Varsity Volleyball and Soccer teams will be attending a tournament in Columbia Sept. 28 & 29.  School will be cancelled for grades 8 - 12 ONLY on Friday, Sept 28.  Please see Bill Lansing’s blog for further information.

Manning the Concession Stand.  Parents please be sure that you know when you are scheduled to work the concession stand.  The ACS office will be making courtesy calls as a reminder but each parent is responsible for finding someone to change dates with if you will not be able to make the date you are scheduled to work.

Career Day for Grades 9 – 10.  Mrs. Young will be taking the Freshmen and Sophomores to State Fair Community College for their annual Career Day on Oct. 2.  Students will meet at SFCC at 8:15.  Students should bring money for a snack and lunch, depending on how long the student chooses to stay.

Sign ups for the First Annual Talent Show are still being taken.  Tickets will be going on sale for the Oct 20 event next week.

Parents, please make sure your child eats breakfast before they come to school.  They can not focus on learning when their bellies are empty!

Have a good week!

Mrs. Young
