Mid-Term Cut Off: September 28 - Mid terms will be sent home next week for students with grades that are 69% or below in any class.

Homework Surveys: All completed surveys are due in the office no later than Monday, October 1.  Thank you for completing these surveys for our Academic Committee.

A+ Homework Help: October 3 - 3:15 to 4:15 pm - A+ students will begin offering homework help for grades K-8th in the CEL cafeteria on Wednesdays during the month of October.  Interested K-8th grade families need to get in touch with Mrs. Mabry to sign up, and confirm sign ups from Kick-Off.  

8th Grade Boston Trip Fundraisers: Every Friday after school the 8th grade class will be selling fresh, home-made baked goods for $15 to raise funds for their trip to Boston next summer!  Last week's baked good was an Oreo cake.  They were delicious!  8th grade will also be hosting a Fish Fry on Saturday, October 20 from 4 to 8 pm at the Smithton Diner.  Tickets can be purchased for $10 from any 8th grade family.  The meal includes fish, coleslaw, beans, dessert, and a drink.       

Spirit Week: October 1 - Pajama Day - wear your pj's and brush your hair that day but don't forget to brush your teeth!  October 3 - Favorite Color Day - come to school decked out in your favorite color or colors!  October 5 - Spirit Day - sport your school colors of red, white , and black!  Hats, sunglasses, face paint, etc. are allowed on Spirit Days.  It will be up to teachers whether or not those things can be worn during class.  Be mindful of the dress code when planning for Spirit Days.  We will be awarding a prize to the student with the most school spirit!!  GO MUSTANGS!

Family Club Meeting: October 4 - 4 pm @ Perkins restaurant - This is the first meeting of the school year.  All families are welcome to attend to learn more about Family Club.  If you would like to become a member, with voting privileges, it is $5 per year.  

Pep Rally: October 5 - 11:30 in the ROC gym - We will be introducing our soccer and volleyball teams and playing a fun game with the student body!  All parents are welcome.

Volleyball Senior Recognition: October 5 - The Lady Mustangs play at 5 and 7 pm that evening.  We will recognize the seniors at approximately 7 pm.  

Parent/Teacher Conference: Monday, October 8 - 6 pm in the ROC gym - Please add this date to your family calendars.  It is important for all families to be in attendance.  This is an evening designed to open dialogue between parents and teachers, but feel free to contact a teacher at any time if you have questions or concerns.

Senior Class Fundraiser: October 14 - 12 to 2 pm in the ROC gym - The seniors will be hosting a soup and chili luncheon with a dessert auction to raise funds for their senior trip to Panama City, Florida.  

School Picture Day: October 17 - Mrs. Brenda Nevels will again be taking pictures of students and staff for our yearbook.  Order forms will be sent out the week before pictures.  

End of First Quarter: October 24 - Grade cards will go home the following week.

Alumni Soccer & Volleyball Games: October 27 - The Athletic Committee will be hosting the alumni soccer game at 4 pm on the soccer field behind the ROC gym and the alumni volleyball game in the ROC gym at 6 pm.  Following the soccer game, there will be a potluck meal shared.  Athletic Committee is providing hotdogs for the event.  Please bring a dish to share. Help us spread the word by letting any alumni families know about the event!

Fall Sports Awards Banquet: October 29 - 6:30 pm in the ROC gym - Soccer and volleyball athletes and teams will be recognized for their accomplishments this season.  Teachers and families are welcome to attend.  Each soccer and volleyball family is asked to bring a dessert to share.  Beverages will be provided.
