&lt;P&gt;Be able to rewrite fragments and run-ons into good sentences.&amp;nbsp; &lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Be able to combine ideas into one good sentence by using words like ALTHOUGH, BECAUSE, IF, SINCE, UNLESS, or WHEN.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Know the different kinds of sentences and their purpose.&amp;nbsp; Declarative, Imperative, Interrogative, and Exclamatory....be able to identify each kind&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Be able to identify the difference between a simple and compound sentence.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Be able to identify all subjects an verbs within sentences.&amp;nbsp; Be extra careful and look for compound subjects and verbs.&amp;nbsp; Also, ALWAYS include ALL helping verbs.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Be able to diagram a compound sentence, a simple sentence with compound verbs, and a simple sentence with compound subjects and verbs.&lt;/P&gt;
