9th Grade --
Spelling - Words for this week: accustomed, athlete, audacious, battalion, brilliance, burial, courteous, division, dormitories, February, heroic, ingredient, length, loyalty, occasionally, optimist, prestige, revealed, secretary, vegetable. Be ready for pre-test on Wednesday.
Grammar - Read page 181; Do A and B pages 181-182; We will have a quiz on Wednesday. Please study the following: pages 170-176, Know proper adjectives, articles, and predicate adjectives, be able to circle adjectives and draw an arrow to the noun modified; pages 178-180, be able to circle adjective phrases, draw a line to the word the phrase modifies, and identify each phrase as prepositional, infinitive, or participial. Bonus will be diagramming.
Literature - Read Anne Frank, pages 208-233 by Wednesday.
10th Grade --
Spelling - Study list 9B and be ready for the pre-test on Wednesday.
Grammar - We will have a test on Wednesday. Study the following: 1. Locating subjects, verbs, and verbals in a sentence; 2. Identifying sentences, fragments, and run-ons; 3. Agreement of subjects and verbs - study plural and singular verbs, inverted sentences, either or, neither, some, etc.; 4. Using verbs - study inferred vs. implied, effect vs. affect, set and sit, lying and laying, and troublesome verbs; 5. Identifying noun uses - be able to label subject, verb, direct object, indirect object, objective complement, predicate nominative, object of preposition, appositive, direct address, and verbal used as adjective; 6. Be able to locate noun clauses, gerund phrases, and infinitive phrases - be able to identify each as subject, d.o., p.n., o.p., or ap.; 7. Study the correct use of pronouns - plural vs. singular, gender, use in sentence, etc.; 8. Using Adjectives in a sentence - study the degrees, any other, anyone else, etc. 9. Be able to locate adjective clauses and phrases and draw an arrow to the word modified. Use pages 175 - 177 as a review for this test. Please call me if you had questions from these pages.

Family Living -- Please locate 3 possible houses in your price range and area of location - bring in mortgage information, house information, and pictures on Wednesday - you will then decide with your partner which house to live in.
