8th Grade Grammar - Read pg 171 and do exercise A. Read pg 172 and do exercise A. Read pg 173 and do exercise A. Read pg 174 and do exercise A.

8th Spelling - Have a parent give you the spelling pre-test. Have it graded and bring with you to school on Friday.

 

9th Grade Grammar - Read pg 186. Do A and B pg 187. Do C and D pgs 188-189.

9th Spelling -  Have a parent give you the spelling pre-test. Have it graded and bring with you to school on Friday.

 

10th Grade Spelling -  Have a parent give you the spelling pre-test. Have it graded and bring with you to school on Friday.

Grammar - Test on Friday - the following is your study guide:

Test 7 Review     Units 15-16 (review units 1-14)

Definitions:  multiple choice

            Define personal pronoun- pg 206; Define ambiguous pronoun reference – pg 210; 

            Know if the pronoun all and several are singular or plural or both – pg 207; Know the gender of the pronoun its – pg 208

            Know that objective case pronouns may act as appositives to indirect objects – pg 214

Pronoun Case:

              6 sentences - multiple choice:  write the letter of the pronoun which correctly completes each sentence – similar to pg 226 Exercise E

                        Review how you determine the case of a pronoun - subject, predicate nominative, object of preposition, etc. 

                            Then remember which pronoun goes with each case. Hint:  “e” pronouns are subject, etc. and “m” pronouns are objects.

Subject-Verb Agreement:

            5 sentences:  multiple choice:  write the letter of the verb that would agree with each pronoun subject. – pg 207

                        Review subjects such as:  Both, One, Most, and Some

Pronoun - Antecedent Agreement:

            5 sentences:  multiple choice:  write the letter of the pronoun that would agree with the antecedent. – pgs 208-209

                        Review pronouns such as:  Both, Everyone, Each, Most, Neither

Pronoun Usage:

             7 sentences:  Write C if the pronoun usage is correct and write I if it is incorrect. 

               Review pronoun case again. – similar to pg 220 Exercise B

:  Bonus  Review the following:  

            Active vs. passive voice

            Punctuation of poem titles and dashes

            Subject - verb agreement -- plural or singular

            Capitalization of brand name products and of street names
