THEMES IN LITERATURE

In Chapter 4 of THE CALL OF THE WILD, the last two chapters dealt with the stronger animal, Buck, ascending to superiority through conflict and death, and a weaker dog, Dave, dying. Read Matthew 5:38-48, 20:25-28; 1 Thessalonians 5:12-15. What does Bible say about the interactions of the strong and the weak and how people should treat each other? 

PHYSICAL SCIENCE

Answer the following questions.

1. Why must one use a reference point to determine whether or not an object is in motion?

2. How many miles per hour does a car travel if it makes a 40-mile trip in 30 minutes?

3. What is the acceleration of an object that moves with a constant velocity?

4. A student climbs a tree. To measure how high she has climbed, she drops a rock and times its fall. It takes 1.3 seconds for the rock to hit the ground. How many feet has she climbed? 

 

Make up three test questions for Module 9. Answer the questions and show all work.

  

2ND GRADE READING

Read page 66 of your Reading Book. Answer the following questions.

1. What does the poet want you to imagine in your mind?

 2. What words does the author use to describe the way the snow looks?

 3. What two words does the author use to describe the snow during the night?

WORLD LITERATURE

Write a one-page summary of what Kumalo has done thus far in the book.

Read p 276-280

Do ON YOUR OWN 9.8, 9.9 and 9.10. 

 

AMERICAN LITERATURE 

 1. Atticus says that you never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view. What does this mean?

 2. What would be good about trying to see something from another person's point of view? Have you ever had to change your mind about something when you did this? Explain
